Without 2 Factor authentication setup the user will be locked out. If you are getting the following message that means you are already locked out.

Gmail Error: Your sign-in settings don't meet your organization's 2-Step Verification policy. Contact your admin for more info.

Solution: In that case, please create a ticket by clicking on  IT Service Desk

However if it is still letting you "Enroll" and did not lock you out then below is a link on how to set it up:

Setting Up G Suite - 2-Step Verification

  1. Go to gmail.com and enter your Algoma email address (i.e. firstname.lastname@algomau.ca)
  2. Enter your G-Suite password
  3. In the top-right corner of the browser window click on the 3x3 of dots and choose “Account”

On the menu to the left click on “Security”

In the “Signing in to Google” section click on the arrow to the right of “2-Step Verification”

Click “GET STARTED”

Re-enter password for verification and click “Next”

For “How do you want to get codes?” select “Text message” and click “SEND”

Enter the code that was sent to your phone via text message and click “NEXT”

Click “TURN ON”

This screen verifies that multi-factor authentication (or 2-Step Verification) is on
